Installation

The installation is the final step of any successful window application. We generally start the process, by setting up and making sure all hardware and requirements are on the jobsite before beginning work. Determining the appropriate method of installation will always depend on how the covering will function, the weight of it and the mounting surface.

Drywall:

“Hitting the studs” is always your best bet, but depending on the location, functionality, and aesthetics of the hardware that might not be the most appropriate location. We ensure that every bracket mounted is secure and appropriate to hold the weight. Using toggle bolts and different anchors allows us to adapt to any design.

Plaster:

Pre-drill. This ancient surface is very delicate, and needs extra carefulness to ensure proper installation.  Depending on the weight of the item will determine what type of anchors will need to be used.

Concrete:

Hammer-time. Generally found in buildings with more then 4 floors, such as condominiums and hotels. Depending on the item being mounted there is different procedures when installing into concrete. Generally pre-drilling a minimum of 1.25” and using a tap-con or a plug/screw application will do it. When installing wooden valances/boards which will hold lots of weight (sheers, drapes, etc.) We might apply adhesive to the top of the board and secure with concrete nails and tap-cons.

Tile (Granite, Marble, Ceramic, Porcelain):

Diamondstallation. For this application, you would gently pre-drill with a diamond bit while applying water to the surface.

Metal:

General metal tapping screws do the trick.

Wood:

Using a size 6 screw is ideal to avoid cracking on hard woods, but pre-drilling is  recommended for soft and fragile woods.

Alongside ensuring proper mounting techniques you must always make sure there is sufficient support in appropriate intervals of the covering. Testing and confirming proper functionality and operation is one of the last steps of a proper installation.

From the set-up to the finishing touches, we ensure a clean and professional job.
